The club is hosting a “summer cross-country conditioning program” for youth runners of all ages, which starts Monday June 18 and ends Thursday August 9. If you have any young athletes who want to continue to improve their conditioning throughout the summer months for the upcoming fall cross-country season, our club can be of help. The goal for these workouts (which will span an 8-week period) is to get athletes in shape for their respective fall cross-country seasons. Emphasis will be on running mileage, along with core strength and leg strength development. The workouts (which will be held Monday, Wednesday and Thursday nights from 6:30-8:30 PM) will be adapted for anyone who needs to run more mileage.
The workouts take place at Ann Arbor Pioneer High School. The group will meet at the north end of the outdoor track, and will go out on runs from there. The track is located off the Main Street parking lot, just west and behind the football stadium. Please note there will be no workouts on the following nights: June 20, June 25, July 2, July 4, July 5, July 9 and July 25.
The cost is $25 per runner, for the entire season. Payments can be made onsite by cash or check — checks should be made payable to “AATC”.
Any athlete who will be running cross-country for their school, should check with their coaches first before participating in these workouts, to make sure there is no conflict. Even though these workouts are organized by the Ann Arbor Track Club, there is no obligation to join the club. Any athlete who wishes to join the Ann Arbor Track Club, but has an obligation to run cross-country for their school this fall, should not join the club until after their school cross-country season is over.
